Merseyside’s most successful eSports player eyes return to competition

Luke “Bidz” Biddell is eyeing a return to competing after a year hiatus. The 23 year old, from Burscough is Merseyside’s most successful eSports and Call of Duty player amassing over £70,000 in prize money during his 3 prior years competing.

Biddell started his career in 2018, being the first player from Merseyside to compete in the Call of Duty league. It didn’t take long for the scouse talent to make his name within the scene. Along with Jamie “Insight” Craven, Bidz led a team formed with Swedish and Scottish talent to a shock quarter final at the 2019 World Championship under Team Singularity.

Out of action for over a year, Biddell retired in January 2021 citing lack of passion and opportunities during the Vanguard season. Speaking to Dexerto this week, Bidz said “My passion for the game is back, I’m ready to compete at the highest level again.”

He will be hoping to follow the paths of his former Singularity teammates “Insight” and “CleanX” back into the Call of Duty league, with the formers earning over £700,000 in prize money since they split from Biddell at the start of 2020.
