Everton and Liverpool transfer round up

Everton’s major January news has been the sacking of Frank Lampard and appointing former Burnley manager Sean Dyche.

Jarrad Branthwaite is likely to join PSV on a permanent deal after spending the season on loan in Holland. He will join fellow defender Joe Anderson in departing the club, with Anderson set to move to Championship Sunderland. Everton will look to bolster their backline and are considering making a move for Rodrigo Becao, from Udinese.

Everton had practically agreed a deal for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma, however with the departure of Lampard he chose to move to Spurs instead. Everton we’re also compounded by the departure of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle. However, they hope to bring in a wide player having missed out on Danjuma, Tete and Elanga – with Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana under consideration, however a fee of over £30M is said to be a stumbling block. Everton have put forward a deal worth up to £45M for Connor Gallagher, as they looked to increase there options in midfield before deadline day.

Further forward, the club have looked to rectify there struggles in front of goal by declaring their interest in Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has been in strong form this season. Dyche is said to be a big admirer of the player, with Illiam Ndiaye and Marko Arnautovic seen as possible backup options.

Liverpool have been frustrated in there transfer attempts so far. With a prospective takeover, and the owners notorious tight spending limits , the club have only made one transfer so far.

In defence, Liverpool recalled young defender Rhys Williams from his loan move at Blackpool in anticipation of Nat Phillips leaving the club. It is expected that Phillips will leave if the right offer is made, with Galatasaray strong admirers of the player.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with many midfielders over the window, with the squad needing a big overhaul in this department. There have been strong links to Moises Caicedo, Jude Bellingham, Sander Berge, Matheus Nunes and Enzo Fernandez, however, none of these has resulted in offers being made, with Liverpool preferring to wait until the summer to buy in this department.

After signing PSV attacker Cody Gakpo, Liverpool haven’t been linked with many other moves in attack. However, they have been looking at Montpellier attack Elye Wahi, who is in strong form this season, for a possible move in summer for a fee of around £25m.
