Emma Rainbird decided to raise money for the charity after Alder Hey saved her life when she was younger.
Rainbird suffered from a heart condition that led to a surgery.
Alongside the 10k run she is also taking part in a ten day trek in the Himalayas of Nepal.
She is hoping to raise four thousand pounds in total.
