Leighton Observatory celebrates its 30th anniversary

Astronomers from across the area have come to celebrate 30 years at Leighton Observatory. The Liverpool Astronomical Society which was founded in 1881 has held weekly meetings at this observatory since 1994. This place has become a second home to those who attend, and a strong community has been built.

Leighton Observatory is the meeting place for the Liverpool astronomical society and is celebrating its 30th anniversary as the home to astronomers around the area. In 30 more years, the society hopes to continue to education the surrounding area and young people about the night sky.
