Today, as we remember the 97 men, women and children who sadly lost their lives 35 years ago today, tributes will be held across the city.

The city will fall silent with a bell-tolling tribute and exchanging of flags at 3:06pm, the time the match at Hillsborough was stopped.

Mersey Ferries will hold the 3pm sailing and sound its horn at the start and end of the minute silence.

Traffic at Mersey Tunnels and calls to Mersey Travel contact centre will both be held for one minute also.

Local venues will also be taking time to respect those who lost their lives, including all local museums and Liverpool ONE.

To watch the bell-tolling and exchanging of flags online, Liverpool City Council will be live-streaming on their Facebook page.

Keep an eye on our website and socials for live updates on tributes in real time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families who lost their loved ones 35 years ago today.
